Encryptive - Windows File Encryption & Shredding
Encryptive
is designed with the Security of your Confidential documents
in mind. Encryptive offers file encryption, using the Triple-DES
methodology to enable you to securely store and send Confidential
documents. Encryptive also offers secure file shredding, using
two of the Industry leading methods: DoD 5220-22M and Gutmann.
If
you have Confidential electronic documents, then you need
Encryptive, to securely encrypt those you wish to keep, and
safely destroy those you don't.

Benefits
- Secure
disposal of confidential electronic files
Many applications exist that claim to securely shred and
destroy any trace of electronic files. This however isn't
something any application can absolutely guarantee, due
to the way drives write and store data. Encryptive accepts
this, and offers users two of the strongest shredding
techniques in the Industry: DoD 5220-22M and the Gutmann
technique.
The US Department of Defense technique (DoD 5220-22M)
was originally designed for removing information from
memory, but is used heavily in the file shredding community
for solid state drives due to its reputation for destroying
files to level that is unrecoverable without an extreme
amount of time and expense.
The Gutmann technique is the result of University research
(University of Auckland, New Zealand) by Peter Gutmann.
The Gutmann technique is unique in offering a methodology
that is designed around all types of drives, with 35 individual
steps, each designed to remove data from a specific drive
type. Recovery following the Gutmann technique is generally
believed to be beyond the capabilities of todays hackers
and recovery experts.
- Secure
storage of confidential electronic files
Confidential files exist on many computers, both individual
and corporate. Encryption is a great method of protecting
information in-case of hardware theft or hacking. Encryptive
offers Triple-DES encryption and decryption of files,
based on a password. Unlike some integrated application
password systems, were an incorrect password is rejected,
decryption of an encrypted file does not result in an
"Incorrect Password" response, the decryption
simply produces an invalid output file, preventing Brute-Force
techniques for breaking into the file. This makes encryption
a strong and sensible technique to protect your files.

Please
note: Whilst file shredding remains a highly recommended and popular
file destruction method, BeachyUK cannot guarantee shredded files
cannot be recovered, this is because file information can be duplicated
on a hard drive, stored in memory, or simply small traces of the
file can be left by magnetic affect on the area outside that officially
storing the file information. Even physically shredding a hard
drive is, today, not a guarantee that a file cannot be recovered.
