Frequently
Asked Questions - The Answers!
1.
Can I use BeachyUK online with an ISDN or other high speed dialup connection?
A: Of course you can! We provide a high speed
network that can cope with ISDN and other high speeds dialup connections.
As this is subscription free with no committment, we ask you to signup
and try the service. We know you'll be impressed!
2.
Why is this service provided subscription free?
A: The only reason we would need to charge for subscription would be to
provide technical support. but as the service is so easy to signup and
connect to, we believe you prefer a "no frills" service. The technical
support page (here) provides all the help you should need. If you're worried
about where we make money: we get a very small cut of the Local Rate Phone
Charge. This means you don't need to pay us direct, or worry about subscription
charges, it also means you won't need to go through a credit check with
us.
3.
What exactly do I pay then?
A: All you pay is your Line Rental and Phone bill as normal. When you
connect you will be using an 0845 (UK Local Rate) number. This means you
will pay the cost of calling people in your local region to access the
Internet. No Subscription, No Joining Fee...none of that at all!
4.
Can my friends signin with my id?
A: Technically so long as you only have one machine signed in at once
yes! But as theres no charge, why not get them to sign up too! You can
personally have more than one id..one for home and one for work.
5.
Will I be thrown off after a certain period of time online?
A: Not by us! Some providers do, but not us. You may however want to check
your computers settings. Often the computer will disconnect after a certain
period of time inactive on the Net.
6.
What if I can't connect?
A: Your telephone provider shouldn't be blocking the call. It may be that
you are internal of a hpone network and need to get the PC to dial "9"
prior to the noraml number to get an external line. Please bare in mind
that you aren't paying a monthly fee for usage. If worst comes to worst
you can ignore your membership with us. Remember: There's no commitment.
7.
Why do you not provide telephone support?
A: With no monthly charges or joining fee, we would have to run a high
cost (50p a minute) support line. We honestly don't think you'll need
any help.
